Comber Chamber of Commerce has launched their campaign to encourage local people to spend the £100 Voucher High Street Scheme in Comber. Following the difficult time that many businesses have suffered throughout the pandemic, the scheme is designed to stimulate local businesses, including retail and hospitality.  Every person in Northern Ireland aged 18 and over will be eligible to apply for a pre-paid card through a dedicated online portal, which is expected to open for registration on NI Direct website  https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/ by mid-September. The card can only be used in local businesses in Northern Ireland and cannot be used to purchase goods online.

Alderman Deborah Girvan, Chairperson of Comber Chamber of Commerce, said, “This is a brilliant scheme!  We would ask local people to spend their voucher in local shops in and around Comber and support our local businesses.  Many of the shops will be offering special incentives to encourage people to spend their voucher in Comber.  You can use it in our award winning restaurants and cafes, artisan food shops, or perhaps start your Christmas shopping early and buy gifts for family and friends in the vintage, craft, art and antique shops that have sprung up in the town.  You could also treat yourself or a loved one to a beauty treatment, a new hair-do, or a bouquet of flowers.”
