The Comber Farmers’ Market, located in St. Mary’s Parish Church Car Park, The Square, Comber, has been operating for 7 years. This artisan food market is open on the first Thursday of every month from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, except for January. The Comber Farmers’ Market is a social enterprise and is managed entirely by volunteers.
Approximately 24 traders attend the food market every month selling locally produced products including fresh fruit and vegetables, sourdough bread, cakes, buns, jams, chutneys, beef, bacon, ham, pork, granola, chocolate, roasted coffee, olives, hummus, cheeses, cut flowers (when in season), traditional Irish breads, sauces, and fresh fish. Comber Farmers’ Market aims to support local food and plant producers and encourages people to support their local businesses by shopping locally.
The award-winning Comber Farmers’ Market differs from other markets in that it only sells local food and plants. It does not have crafts or other types of market stalls as has built its reputation on selling top-quality local food produced by local farmers and other food producers. The market has an excellent selection and variety of stalls run by very friendly and committed traders who are passionate and care about their products. In addition, there are 10/15 volunteers who help to run The Comber Farmers’ Market on market day and ensure that customers have a great food experience. They also ensure that strict Covid -19 restrictions are in place to keep people safe.
